Most TV reception problems in Auckland come down to a handful of things: wind knocking the aerial out of line, water getting into a cable joint, an amplifier power supply dying, or a cheap splitter feeding too many TVs. None of them need a whole new system. We measure the signal, show you where it drops, and fix that part.
Common TV Aerial Faults and What They Cost to Fix
Starting prices. We confirm a fixed price after the meter reading, before any repair. Prices exclude GST.
No Signal After Wind or a Storm
The aerial has been knocked off line or the mast has moved. Common after a big Auckland southerly.
- Realign and secure: from $129
- Peaked on the meter, not by eye
Pixelation and Freezing
Weak or noisy signal. Usually a corroded connector, a tired cable or an aerial slightly off target.
- Connector or fault repair: from $129
- New coax run: from $99
One TV Works, Another Does Not
The aerial is fine; the problem is the splitter, a wall plate or the cable to that room.
- Wall plate or cable fix: from $99
- Proper distribution splitter: from $179
Signal Gone Everywhere at Once
If the house has a masthead amplifier, its power supply is the first suspect. No light on the power pack is a giveaway.
- Amplifier replacement: from $149
- Only fitted if the reading shows you need one
Rusted, Broken or Old VHF Aerial
Past the point of patching. Replacing the aerial on your existing mast and cable is usually the cheapest proper fix.
- New aerial, existing mast: from $229
- VHF to UHF upgrade: from $229
Not Sure What Is Wrong
That is what the fault check is for. We test from the aerial down to each TV and tell you the cause and the price.
- Fault check: $99
- Credited toward the repair
Quick checks before you book
These sort out a surprising number of calls, so give them five minutes first:
- Check the input. Press Source or Input and make sure the TV is on the aerial or TV input, not HDMI.
- Run an auto retune. Freeview channels move from time to time and the TV does not always follow.
- Reseat the cable. Push the aerial lead firmly into the back of the TV and the wall plate.
- Look at the amplifier power pack. If there is one and its light is off, that is likely your fault.

How a repair works
- Tell us the symptom. Call 09 886 9886 or use the form. No signal, pixelation, which TVs are affected, and when it started.
- Fault check ($99). We take signal meter readings at the aerial and at each wall plate to find where the signal drops.
- Fixed quote. You get the cause and a fixed price before we touch anything. The check fee comes off the repair.
- Repair and retune. We fix it, retune every TV in the house and show you the readings before we leave.

For landlords and property managers
A tenant ringing about no TV is a small job that eats your afternoon. Send it to us: we liaise with the tenant for access, fix the fault, and send an itemised GST invoice with the meter readings so you can show the owner what was done.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does TV aerial repair cost in Auckland?
A fault check is $99 and most repairs start from $129. Realigning an aerial is from $129, new cable from $99, a replacement amplifier from $149 and a new aerial on your existing mast from $229. The check fee is credited if you go ahead. Prices exclude GST.
Why does my TV say no signal?
Check the input and run an auto retune first. If it still says no signal, the usual causes are an aerial knocked out of line, water in a cable joint, a loose wall plate or a dead amplifier power supply. A meter reading shows which.
Why is my Freeview picture pixelating?
The signal is too weak or noisy for the TV to decode cleanly. Corroded connectors, an aerial slightly off target, a cheap splitter or a failing amplifier are the usual suspects. If it gets worse in bad weather, the fault is almost always outside.
Should I repair or replace my old aerial?
A modern UHF aerial in good shape is usually cheaper to realign or re-cable. A rusted, broken or old VHF aerial is better replaced on the existing mast, from $229. We tell you which after the reading.
Do you repair TV aerials on the North Shore?
Yes. Albany, Takapuna, Glenfield, Browns Bay, Devonport and the rest of the North Shore, plus East, West, South and Central Auckland.
